2000.02-2001.05 法国原子能委员会受控核聚变研究所，博士后。
2001.06-2006.03 瑞士洛桑联邦理工学院等离子体物理研究中心，物理工作者。
2006.04-2017.05 华中科技大学聚变与等离子体研究所，教授、博士生导师、所长。
2017.05-2020.05 中国科学技术大学工程与应用物理系，教授，博士生导师，执行主任。
2020.05至今 中国科学技术大学核科学技术学院，教授，博士生导师，副院长。
主要研究方向为磁约束聚变等离子体物理和高温等离子体诊断。目前开展托卡马克物理实验及诊断、磁约束聚变堆物理设计、非中性等离子体物理、辅助加热及电流驱动等方面的研究，已在SCI收录的学术刊物上发表论文200余篇。担任国家磁约束聚变专家委员会委员、国际托卡马克物理活动协调委员会委员、中国磁约束核聚变堆总体设计组成员、中国物理学会等离子体物理分会主任委员、中国核学会核聚变与等离子体物理分会常务理事、《Review of Modern Plasma Physics》和《Nuclear fusion》编委等学术职务。
